Let us talk about
failures.
The 5P System of the THOMSEN GROUP provides our clients
with the maximum amount of security. No other system may
possibly be able to offer this assurance in advance. Often we
are mandated to identify possibilities and risks in markets and,
based on this, we develop and realize integrated market
strategies. It was just like that with one of our clients from
the high-tech industry.
Specific future here: It wasn't us who developed the product,
it was already available as a concept. By order of an european
government the client had previously successfully developed a
device that was being used to warn citizens, especially in the case
of incidents within nuclear power plants. The idea of the client:
To develop a little device in combination with an alarm clock e.g.
for the nightstand. Hence a device that warns in any case of adversity,
from a flood to catastrophe XY. We aborted our work earlier than usual
though. A failure! Our LiveResearch showed that this product didn't
have a chance in the market: The request of the interviewees for a
switch off-button for this device, which is intended to always stay "on" (to always be able to warn in case of a catastrophe), makes clear that the psyche, again and again, is an important shopping guide. Often people don't want to know which bad things lie in the future. Nonetheless we are proud of this failure: Our work saved the client from millions of development costs.
